Welcome, Marilyn Reside – Electronic Resources Librarian

We’re excited to formally introduce Marilyn Reside as the new Electronic Resources Librarian at the Mina Rees Library. Reside brings over fifteen years of experience in academic, consumer health, and public libraries, and nine years in the field of higher education.

Previously, Reside served as Director of Library Services at Monroe College, where she managed the move of the library facility into a newly renovated space and oversaw all regular library services, both virtual and onsite. She also served as the Research Librarian, supporting graduate students and faculty across the disciplines, including public health, health care administration, business administration, and criminal justice.

In the context of the Graduate Center, Reside will develop workflows, best practices, and documentation to manage electronic and subscription resources, and help to make the library responsive to new needs and evolving technologies surrounding electronic resources. She will also oversee electronic resource holdings in knowledgebases, integrated library system/discovery services and electronic resource management systems. Additionally, Reside will serve as a subject liaison, participating in reference and instruction, as well as collection development.

As always, if you have any questions relating to research, e-resources, or any other topics, feel free to contact us via email (library@gc.cuny.edu) or through our 24/7 chat service. We’re available for consultations and more. Please stay tuned to the Library’s blog and Twitter to find out what’s going on and share your ideas for how to improve collections, services, and to join the conversation.
