We’re excited to share that the Mina Rees Library seeks a Graduate Center student worker for approximately 11 hours per week during the Spring 2023 semester (1/25-5/31).

An individual in this role will perform various duties associated with public services, including outreach and communication. Duties may include the following, with additional tasks as needed:

  • Creating content on social media platforms and blog to enhance awareness of resources
  • Promotion of Library workshops/events to the Graduate Center community
  • Developing graphics and promotional materials for Library visitors

Qualifications: Previous library or public service experience is welcomed, but not required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; a proactive, detail-oriented approach; and the ability to work independently, are qualities essential to this role.

Compensation: 

Graduate Center students are employed in this position by way of GC student employment appointments: compensation is based on a fixed hourly rate, and there are no associated benefits. This position requires a commitment of 200 hours per semester. Hourly wage: $18/hour.

Additional Eligibility:

This position is open to students currently enrolled at the Graduate Center, who are enrolled full time in Spring 2023. For example, Ph.D. students must be registered for 7 credits/WIUs and MA students must be registered for 12 or more credits.
