INTERLIBRARY LOANS: Book Requests and Returns

BORROWING REQUESTS:

It is, once again, possible to borrow print books and other physical information resources!

If you request a book through ILL, we will now request a print copy for you. (E-books are not usually available through ILL; instead, you can request a chapter or two – up to about 50 pages – or the entire print book. But, if only an e-book will do, then we can help you look for that… just let us know in the notes!)

Please email us if you’ve requested any books, or other materials, since March 2020 that you still need. (We will be also be emailing everyone in case you do not have a list of titles you requested.)

RETURNS:

We also need your help in returning all overdue interlibrary loan books so that they remain available, through interlibrary loan, to the worldwide community of scholars. As of now, over 800 books are checked out to members of the Graduate Center community. No fees will be charged for overdue items. And our partner libraries have been wonderfully patient with us. But now it is time to send them back home! So, please return items to the GC library, as soon as possible.

If you cannot get to the library, please email us, and we’ll find an alternative way to return items. We also understand that it is possible that some items may have been lost during this unprecedented experience… so, please let us know if you cannot find anything that you have checked out.

QUESTIONS:

Please check here for the latest information about how to access the Graduate Center building and library to return or pick up ILL books. If you have any questions, please ask at ill@gc.cuny.edu.

We are here, as always, to connect you with the information you need. And we wish you all the best as the Fall 2021 semester begins (and always!).
