You may already know that the library’s concourse level will be transformed soon into the CUNY Center for Digital Scholarship and Data Visualization. This week (July 8th-12th), the computers and printers from the concourse level will move to the second floor. Below is some additional detail.

Library C-Level – The color printer will be moved to the DSC lab on the fifth floor, while two OCS printers will move to the 2nd floor printer area. The C-level is still available for use until actual renovation work begins, which we expect will happen in the fall. The library classroom C196.05 will continue to be in use until then, and the open area that makes up most of the concourse level can be used as workspace.

1st Floor – The computers on the first floor remain as they were, and that floor is still the home of the Object Library. Nothing to report!

2nd Floor – As part of the equipment reshuffling, the public workstations have moved to the carrels behind the reference desk that hold microfilm scanners and one book scanner. All computers after the printer area require logins, and all the public computers are closer to the reference desk.

We’ll be updating signage and library maps to reflect the new arrangements.
