Now available: Duke University Press Ebooks

Building robust print and electronic collections to support teaching and research at The Graduate Center continues to be a top priority for Mina Rees library faculty. We have two announcements to share along those lines, as follows:

The library has acquired the Duke University Press e-books corpus. This new resource provides full text access to more than 2,600 e-books in the humanities and social sciences, and we expect it will be an exciting addition for our colleagues in these fields. To search all of the titles in this platform, we recommend searching directly from this database, accessible through our Databases A-Z page. This resource was purchased with funds from the GC’s Student Technology Fee.

HathiTrust, one of our digital book partners, expanded access to their digital collections during the Covid-19 closure of our physical space. We plan to return to print circulation on August 2nd, which will bring Hathi’s Emergency Temporary Access Service (ETAS) to an end. Graduate Center affiliates will continue to have the ability to download PDFs of items in the public domain and to create collections of items in HathiTrust. You can continue to access HathiTrust from our Databases A-Z page.

As always, feel free to be in touch with questions! We’d love to hear from you – by email at ref@gc.cuny.edu or via our live, 24/7 chat service, Ask a Librarian.
