Research in Literature
Friday, March 21, 2-3pm
Isaac Gewirtz, Curator, Berg Collection of English and American Literature
Jason Baumann, Coordinator for Collection Assessment, Humanities & LGBT Collections
Co-sponsored by the Graduate Center Library
This spring NYPL will offer three one-hour instructional courses intended to help graduate students and faculty locate items across the library’s special collections, including manuscripts and archives, rare books, prints, and photographs. The classes will also highlight use of the library catalog, as well as full-text databases not otherwise available at many CUNY schools.
The New York Public Library’s StephenA. Schwarzman Building, located at Fifth Avenue & 42nd Street, provides students, faculty and researchers with access to a world-class research library, comprised of archives and manuscripts, rare books, scholarly monographs, prints, photographs, hard-to-find historical periodicals and electronic resources in a range of languages. The collections support in-depth research in history, literature, fine arts and various social science disciplines. In addition, the library offers an array of specialized databases that provide new approaches to searching historical newspapers and rare ephemera.
Please RSVP to Brooke Watkins at brookewatkins@nypl.org or 212-930-0033 and include both your name and your subject interest. Please help us spread the word by sharing this information with your classmates and students!
