NY Archives Week – New-York Historical Society Open House -3pm
Thursday, October 9, 2014 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm
The New-York Historical Society, one of America’s preeminent cultural institutions, is dedicated to fostering research, presenting history and art exhibitions, and offering public programs that reveal the dynamism of the City’s history and its influence on the world. The Open House will be hosted by Vice President and Director, Michael T. Ryan, accompanied by fellow archivists and curators after hours in the Patricia D. Klingenstein Library of the New-York Historical Society.
Participants will explore selected holdings from different parts of the collection that sample the wide range of resources available for Graduate Center student and faculty research. Curators and archivists will offer an overview of the services and resources of the New-York Historical Society’s Patricia D. Klingenstein Library, and the New-York HIstorical Society Museum, (the oldest Museum in New York City).
