11/9: How to do a Literature Search (and Other Topics) for Anthro Students
Wednesday, November 9, 2016 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
What is a literature search, and why is it so important? When should one do a literature search? Once one has downloaded electronic articles/chapters/books, what do you with them? Where do you store them, how do you retrieve them? These and other questions will be answered in the 1-1 ½ hour workshop designed for anthropology students. Topics will include:
- Literature search: why it is important
- Can all anthro databases be searched at the same time?
- OneSearch: what is it, when (should?) I use it?
- The storing, sorting, and using of electronic files
- Zotero: more than a citation manager
- The next step when inter-library loan cannot get you what you need
- College of Research Libraries catalog: what is it? How to use it.
- And any other questions students may have
MALS students in the archaeology track are also welcome.
