Librarians and Adjuncts in Action
Friday, April 12, 2013 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
FreeTitle: Librarians and Adjuncts in Action
Friday, April 12th, 2013
11am – 1pm, Sociology Lounge
Description: Adjuncts have a great resource at their disposal, a resource which is also available to their students to help them write strong research papers and develop critical thinking skills: the campus university library where they teach. The library can also absorb open class time, and provide an anchor for navigating heavy research projects. This workshop, led by four CUNY Librarians, will cover topics such as: research expectations for your students, the differences in assignments by research types, how to teach ethical research behavior, as well as what resources to utilize at your campus library as an adjunct, and how to solicit the help of librarians in your classroom. Participants of this workshop will walk away with an awareness of campus resources available through the library, as well as the ways they can collaborate with librarians both in and outside of the classroom.
