Two Database Cancellations

Due to restricted budgets, the GC Library has had to make a few hard decisions about our database offerings this year, and will no longer subscribe to the following databases. Please see below for suggested alternatives that could be used in the place of a GC subscription.

Lynda.com: Although you will no longer be able to use your GC-specific username and login,* the New York Public Library (NYPL) offers access to all of the same content and features. You can log in remotely to Lynda.com with your NYPL credentials.

*If you have a current GC account with Lynda.com, you may want to log in before our subscription lapses to make note of any personal data (videos watched, bookmarks, etc.) before January 5, 2016.

Rosetta Stone: our subscription to Rosetta Stone will soon lapse.* As an alternative, the New York Public Library offers remote access to Mango Languages, which has lesson plans for 71 different languages, as well as a downloadable mobile app.

*Again, if you have your own personal login to Rosetta Stone, you should log in and make note of any information you would like to retain about your account.

We deeply apologize for these cuts to our resources, and hope that our continued commitment to providing stellar services to our community can help lessen the effects of these setbacks.
