Finding E-book Access in a Shifting World

You can’t go to the library. That chapter you were planning to scan, the reserve book you won’t be able to look at–are those materials out of your reach entirely? Maybe not. Journals, academic publishers, even some mainstream corporate publishers are relaxing their access, expanding e-book offerings, in some cases opening their resources completely. This is especially true for material that’s directly related to COVID-19, but there’s more available than epidemiology and biochem.

How do I find out who’s offering what? Where is my book, if my book is there at all? We’ve been putting together resources and techniques for finding the materials you need and can’t touch, and we’ll share those secrets in an online workshop.

Join us for a hands-on introduction to managing citations with Zotero, a free and open source research tool that makes organizing your research and creating bibliographies a breeze.

The Graduate Center Office of Research and Sponsored Programs and Mina Rees Library will be co-hosting a virtual workshop for the GC community on how to use the database Pivot to find graduate, and postgraduate fellowships and funding opportunities across a wide range of academic disciplines.
