Welcome Katelyn Angell: Adjunct Reference Librarian

Photo of Katelyn AngellThe library is pleased to announce the appointment of our new Adjunct Reference Librarian, Katelyn Angell for the Spring 2019 semester.

Kate comes to us as a tenured Associate Professor and First Year Success Librarian at Long Island University’s Brooklyn Campus. She received a Master of Library and Information Science from St. John’s University, a Master’s in Psychology from LIU Brooklyn, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and English from Wesleyan University. Her liaison assignments at LIU Brooklyn include psychology, sociology, and nursing. Kate has published solo and co-authored articles in a number of library and information science journals, including Public Services QuarterlyBehavioral and Social Sciences Librarian, and Evidence Based Library and Information Practice. Her research interests include information literacy instruction assessment, game-based learning, active learning techniques, cataloging, and social sciences. A fun fact is Kate is also the co-founder alongside Elvis Bakaitis of the Feminist Zine Fest, now celebrating its seventh year. More information about her scholarship can be found on her Google Scholar profile. You may also check out her website, http://katelynangell.com

While at the GC, Kate will participate in library services related to the reference desk, chat, and phone reference. She will also engage in projects on library statistics, library blogging, workshops, and securing rights and permissions to make CUNY select publications openly available.
