Get to Know the Web of Science Database (Upcoming Workshop!)

You may not know this, but the Graduate Center Library provides access to a powerful resource which enables you to both delve into published literature and monitor new developments in your field. This resource is called Web of Science, and it offers a number of features that can help you explore and better understand the contours of the research landscape in your discipline.

The Web of Science database indexes peer-reviewed publications, and provides an interface that allows you to search simultaneously across 61 million citations for articles, reviews, editorials, chronologies, abstracts, proceedings and technical papers in over 250 disciplines in the sciences, social sciences, arts and humanities. Links to the full text are supplied for the content to which the Graduate Center subscribes.

Researchers can also use citation analytics in Web of Science to identify key papers in their area of study, find the top journals to publish in and stay abreast with, and follow their own personal citation metrics for professional development.

Whether you are a Web of Science novice, or are looking for a refresher and to pick up some expert tips, we hope you will join the library for a hands-on training session (led by a Clarivate Analytics expert), to help you make the most of this resource in your own writing and research at the Graduate Center:
