GC Student Email Change: How to Keep Getting Your Library Circulation and ILL Notifications

emailStudent email addresses are changing! They will now end in @gradcenter.cuny.edu rather than @gc.cuny.edu. (Read more about the change.)

As of February 17, all student email will automatically be redirected from @gc.cuny.edu accounts to @gradcenter.cuny.edu accounts.  If you have configured your @gc.cuny.edu email to be forwarded to another email address, that forwarding will cease to work — your GC email will go to your @gradcenter.cuny.edu account and only that account.

So what does this mean for receiving email notifications from the library? Two things: 1) You need to start checking your @gradcenter.cuny.edu account (to do so, go to http://portal.office.com/), and 2) you need to give the library — both Interlibrary Loan and the Circulation Desk — your new email address.

Circulation Desk: To change your email address on file with Circulation, stop by the Circulation Desk on the first floor of the library. You can give them either your @gradcenter.cuny.edu address or a non-GC address — just make sure it’s an address you check frequently, so you’ll be sure to receive overdue notices, recall notices, etc.

Interlibrary Loan: To check or change the email addresses connected to your ILL account, log in to your ILL account, and go to Tools>Change Account Information. There you can check what email address the system currently has and, if necessary, change it. Again, you can supply either your @gradcenter.cuny.edu address or a non-GC address.
